About Regstead

Built for businesses where public information matters.

Regstead is building a simpler way for regulated businesses to keep track of important information across their public websites.

The idea is straightforward: websites change constantly. Important information should not become harder to find, break quietly or materially change without anyone noticing.

The Regstead idea
A website audit tells you what was there today. Regstead is being built to tell you what changes tomorrow.
Monitor what matters. Preserve uncertainty where the evidence is incomplete. Give people something useful to review.

Why Regstead exists

Websites are easy to change and surprisingly hard to keep under control.

A modern website may contain hundreds of pages, links, documents, profiles and forms. Different people edit different parts of it, often over many years.

For regulated organisations, some of that content carries more significance than ordinary marketing copy. Pricing, complaints, public disclosures, staff information and important customer journeys all need attention.

Regstead exists to make that ongoing oversight easier.

Important information is distributed

The information that matters may live across pages, PDFs, staff profiles, policy sections and service-specific content.

Websites change continually

Content gets edited, documents are replaced, links break and staff or service information becomes outdated.

One-off reviews have a limit

A manual audit can tell you what is there at one point in time. It cannot continuously remember what happens afterwards.

How we’re building it

Accuracy before alarm.

Regstead is deliberately being built around cautious, explainable monitoring rather than dramatic compliance scores.

01

Evidence first

Findings should be supported by observable website evidence, not by a confident-sounding guess.

02

Uncertainty is allowed

If Regstead cannot establish something confidently, “could not confirm” is a better result than inventing certainty.

03

Change needs context

Regstead remembers previous observations so a new scan can be understood in relation to what was there before.

A different kind of scanner

Regstead is not trying to frighten people into buying compliance.

A missing keyword is not automatically a failure. A page that was not discovered is not automatically absent. And an automated tool should not pretend to know more than the evidence supports.

The aim is simpler: make important website evidence and change easier to see, then let people decide what needs action.

No compliance certification Regstead supports monitoring and review; it does not certify regulatory compliance.
No alarmist scoring The product is designed around clear evidence and appropriate uncertainty rather than dramatic red scores.
No “not found = breach” logic An inability to confirm information remains different from evidence that something is genuinely missing or broken.
Human judgement still matters Automation helps narrow attention; it does not remove professional judgement.

Where Regstead is today

Starting focused. Building carefully.

Regstead’s first monitoring pack is designed for law firms in England and Wales.

The product is being tested against real public websites and introduced gradually so accuracy and usefulness can be improved before broader automation.

The longer-term goal is to apply the same monitoring approach to other regulated and information-sensitive sectors.

Current focus
First monitoring pack focused on law firms.
Controlled rollout rather than mass automation.
Findings may be manually reviewed before sharing.
Product decisions shaped by real customer use.
Broader regulated sectors can follow once the model is proven.

Built with a practical perspective

Regstead started with a simple frustration.

Keeping a business website accurate should not depend on someone remembering to manually revisit every important page after every change.

Regstead is being built around that practical problem: create a reliable record of what matters, remember what was there, and make meaningful change easier to spot.

Regstead is an independent monitoring product in development. It does not provide legal advice or replace professional compliance judgement.
