How Regstead works
From website snapshot to continuous monitoring.
Regstead scans publicly accessible website information, records what it observes, and uses future scans to identify meaningful change.
The important difference is memory. Regstead is designed to understand not only what is visible today, but how that compares with what was observed before.
Regstead monitors public website information. It does not provide legal advice or certify regulatory compliance.
The Regstead monitoring cycle
The process
Regstead builds context before it raises concerns.
Rather than treating your website as a collection of isolated pages, Regstead builds a structured record of where important public information lives.
Scan the website
Regstead follows publicly accessible pages, links and documents within a controlled scan of the website.
Identify important surfaces
Relevant pages, documents, service information and other important public signals are associated with their context.
Create the baseline
Regstead records what was observed so the next scan can be compared with something meaningful rather than starting again.
Apply evidence-led checks
Defined monitoring rules assess available evidence while preserving uncertainty when there is not enough information.
Compare future scans
Pages, links and important information can be compared with previous observations to highlight meaningful change.
Surface what deserves attention
The result is a clearer distinction between healthy evidence, review items, confirmed problems and information Regstead could not confirm.
The difference is memory
A scan tells you what is there. Memory tells you what changed.
Traditional website checks tend to inspect the current state and stop there. Regstead retains previous observations so later scans can be understood in context.
That allows a page becoming unavailable, important wording changing, or previously observed information disappearing to be treated differently from something Regstead has simply never seen.
Evidence before certainty
Not every result deserves the same level of confidence.
Regstead is deliberately cautious. Strong evidence can support a clear result. Weak or incomplete evidence should remain uncertain.
That distinction matters because false certainty is often more dangerous than saying “we could not confirm this”.
Human review
Automation does not remove judgement.
Regstead combines automated monitoring with human review where judgement is useful. Findings may be human-reviewed before they are shared.
This provides an additional safeguard while the monitoring engine continues to improve and helps ensure customers receive useful evidence rather than noisy automated output.

What Regstead is — and isn’t
Monitoring support, not a compliance certificate.
Regstead is designed to make changes and public website evidence easier to see. It does not replace professional judgement.
- Scan publicly accessible website information
- Identify important pages, documents and links
- Record previous observations
- Compare future scans with earlier evidence
- Highlight material changes and confirmed technical problems
- Preserve uncertainty where evidence is incomplete
- Provide legal advice
- Guarantee or certify regulatory compliance
- Treat missing evidence as automatic proof of a breach
- Replace your compliance or professional advisers
- Assume every website change is a problem
- Turn “could not confirm” into “definitely missing”
Start with a baseline

A baseline scan is the first step. Once Regstead knows what is there, future monitoring can tell you what changes.
