Website Terms of Use

These terms govern use of the Regstead website and its free website-scan facility. Paid subscriptions are governed separately by our Subscription Terms.

Effective date: 13 September 2026
Last reviewed: 13 September 2026

Before publishing: replace the square-bracketed business details with the legal person or company operating Regstead.

1. About these terms

These Website Terms of Use (“Terms”) apply to your use of regstead.co.uk and any related pages operated under the Regstead name (the “Website”).

Regstead is a trading name of Foundry Vale Ltd, of 23 Berrow Park Road, Plymouth, Devon, PL3 5PZ (“Regstead”, “we”, “us” or “our”).

By using the Website, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Website.

2. What Regstead does

Regstead provides website monitoring, evidence gathering and review tools for regulated organisations. The Website may also allow eligible organisations to request a free baseline scan of publicly accessible website content.

3. Regstead is not legal advice or a compliance certification service

Regstead identifies website evidence, changes, uncertainties and potential areas for review. It does not provide legal advice, determine regulatory compliance, certify compliance or replace professional legal or regulatory review.

A finding, status or absence of a finding should not be treated as a legal conclusion. Website content, regulation and technical conditions can change, and automated tools cannot guarantee that every issue will be detected.

4. Free website scans

A free scan is provided for evaluation and information only. We may limit availability, scope, frequency or eligibility for free scans.

You should request a scan only for a website that you own, operate, manage or are authorised to submit for review. Regstead scans publicly accessible material and does not use a free scan as authority to bypass authentication, security controls or technical access restrictions.

Findings may be human-reviewed before they are shared. We do not guarantee a particular turnaround time unless we expressly agree one with you.

5. Permitted use

You may use the Website only for lawful business and professional purposes. You must not:

  • attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Website, our systems or another user’s information;
  • introduce malware, malicious code or harmful automated traffic;
  • interfere with the operation or security of the Website;
  • scrape, copy or systematically extract our proprietary content or service outputs except as expressly permitted;
  • misrepresent Regstead findings as legal advice or compliance certification;
  • use the Website to infringe another person’s intellectual property, privacy or other rights; or
  • use the Website for any unlawful or fraudulent purpose.

6. Intellectual property

The Website, Regstead name and branding, software concepts, text, graphics, reports, layouts and other materials we create are protected by intellectual property rights owned by us or our licensors.

You may view and print Website pages for your own internal business use. No other licence is granted unless we expressly agree otherwise.

7. Information on the Website

We aim to keep Website information useful and up to date, but we do not promise that all content will always be complete, current, accurate or available. Product functionality, pricing and planned features may change.

Where a page describes a future or planned feature, that description is not a commitment to deliver it by a particular date unless expressly stated in a written order or agreement.

8. Third-party websites

The Website may link to third-party websites. Links are provided for convenience and do not mean we endorse or control the third party. We are not responsible for third-party websites, content or services.

9. Availability and security

We may change, suspend or withdraw all or part of the Website for maintenance, security, operational or business reasons. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability.

10. Liability

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.

Subject to that, and to the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for loss arising from reliance on Website content or free-scan output as legal, regulatory or compliance advice, or for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profits, loss of business, loss of opportunity, loss of goodwill or loss of anticipated savings arising from use of the Website.

Paid Regstead services are subject to the separate liability provisions in the Subscription Terms.

11. Privacy and cookies

Our Privacy Policy explains how we use personal information. Our Cookie Policy explains how cookies and similar technologies are used.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The version published on the Website applies from the effective date shown above. Changes do not retrospectively alter a paid subscription contract except as permitted by the Subscription Terms.

13. Governing law

These Terms and any non-contractual obligations arising from them are governed by the law of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, except where applicable law requires otherwise.
